Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will arrive in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, and be transferred to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day resting and preparing for the climb ahead.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Preparation
This day can be spent sightseeing in Kathmandu, including visits to culturally significant sites such as Pashupatinath and Boudhanatah. In the afternoon, you will attend a pre-trip meeting with your climbing guide and team members to discuss the trip details and make final preparations.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding
You take an early morning scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a trek to Phakding. The trail descends from Lukla through lush forested landscapes with stunning views of the peaks in the distance.
Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazaar
The trek continues along the Dudh Koshi River, ultimately ascending to Namche Bazaar. This historically significant trading center offers a glimpse into Sherpa culture and serves as an important acclimatization point.
Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar We will spend a day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization purposes. We hike up to Everest View hotel through Syangboche Airport which was listed as one of the high altitude airport in the world. You can explore the town, visit nearby monasteries, museum.
Day 6: Namche Bazaar to Dole
Leaving Namche Bazaar, the trail leads to Kengjuma ,Mongla and to Dole , a charming Sherpa village nestled in the mountains. The trek offers picturesque views of the surrounding peaks, including Ama Dablam and Thamserku.
Day 7: Phortse to Machhermo
The trek from Phortse to Machhermo takes you through beautiful alpine scenery and alongside the Dudh Koshi River. Machhermo is a small settlement surrounded by snow-capped peaks, providing a serene atmosphere for rest and acclimatization.
Day 8: Machhermo to Gokyo
The trek to Gokyo takes you along the stunning Gokyo Lakes, a series of sacred turquoise lakes set amidst the towering peaks of the Himalayas. Upon reaching Gokyo, you are greeted by breathtaking views of Cho Oyu, the sixth highest mountain in the world.
Day 9: Acclimatization Day in Gokyo
Another day for acclimatization is spent in Gokyo, where you can explore the lakes, hike to Gokyo Ri for panoramic views, and rest to prepare for the challenges ahead.
Day 10: Gokyo to Thagnak
You trek from Gokyo to Thagnak, passing through the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in the Himalayas. The trail offers unique views of the glacial landscape and the surrounding peaks.
Day 11: Cross Cho La Pass and Trek to Dzongla
This is a challenging day as you cross the high-altitude Cho La Pass, where you’ll encounter rocky terrain and potentially snow. The pass rewards you with stunning views of Ama Dablam and other peaks before descending to Dzongla.
Day 12: Dzongla to Lobuche
The trek from Dzongla to Lobuche takes you closer to the Everest region, with impressive vistas of peaks and glaciers. As you approach Lobuche, you’ll start feeling the high altitude more keenly.
Day 13: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorak Shep
This day involves trekking to Everest Base Camp, an iconic destination for trekkers, and then returning to Gorak Shep for the night. The trail offers unparalleled views of the Khumbu Icefall and other dramatic features of the Everest region.
Day 14: Hike to Kala Patthar and Trek to Lobuche
You begin the day with a hike to Kala Patthar, where you can witness the sunrise over Mount Everest and the stunning panorama of the surrounding peaks. Afterward, you trek back down Gorekshep have breakfast and then down to Lobuche, surrounded by the grandeur of the Himalayas.
Day 15: Trek to Lobuche High Camp
As you ascend to the high camp for the Lobuche Peak climb, the terrain becomes steeper and more challenging. At the high camp, you’ll make final preparations for the summit push and rest to conserve energy for the following day.
Day 16: Summit Day and Descend to Lobuche
Summit day begins with an early morning start to ensure ample time for the climb and descend. You’ll navigate through rocky terrain, snow, and ice to reach the summit of Lobuche Peak, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the entire Everest region. After celebrating your accomplishment, you’ll descend back to Lobuche.
Day 17: Contingency Day
A contingency day is built into the itinerary to account for any unforeseen delays due to weather or other factors. If the summit was successful on the previous day, this extra day can be utilized for rest or further exploration.
Day 18: Descend to Pangboche
You descend from Lobuche to Pangboche, retracing your steps through the serene mountain landscapes. It’s a day to relax and reflect on the climbing experience.
Day 19: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar
The trek back to Namche Bazaar allows for a more leisurely pace, with opportunities to soak in the natural beauty and enjoy the company of fellow trekkers.
Day 20: Namche Bazaar to Lukla
The final leg of the trek leads from Namche Bazaar back to Lukla, where you can celebrate the successful adventure with your team and local staff.
Day 21: Fly to Kathmandu
You take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, enjoying one last aerial view of the majestic Himalayas. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you can rest, explore the city, and perhaps indulge in some well-deserved relaxation.
